i thought about that, but then i also looked at some other things that made me think sm just doesn’t care anymore

sm is highly invested in getting money. we all know that. when their artists do dramas, it’s highly advertised. ex: minho, yunho, changmin, yoona, donghae, siwon, etc. we all know what dramas these guys all did. kibum? nothing. nada. zip. his dramas don’t do well and sm knows it.

super junior is also losing members at a quick rate. from 13 down to 12, to 11, to 8. they probably scrambled to figure out a schedule so sj could keep releasing songs and pull in revenue even with 1/3 of the band gone at a time. there’s no way they’re letting kibum free on drama sets when sj’s going to be so dramatically diminished.

third, remember those mentions of kibum being the member to expand suju’s reach beyond singing and dancing? to truly be the multi-faceted group they’d been put together to be? well i don’t see how kibum’s contributed to that at all. siwon and donghae had a drama in taiwan that had posters all over the tag. siwon’s had multiple drama roles now (not all in the best dramas, but still). kibum, again, hasn’t exactly hit the script jackpot. there’s no reason sm would let him flounder around for this long without cutting him off and pulling him back into sj.

so maybe sm has plans for him, i really don’t know. this is all speculation. but i think sm just doesn’t give a care about what kibum’s doing anymore.
